Following the Coyote

Abstract

This poem follows the journey of migrants crossing physical and emotional borders in search of safety, sustainability, and peace. I blend imagery with metaphor, it captures the weight of displacement, the struggle of the journey, and the hope of a better future. The work seeks to honor the perseverance of immigrant communities while questioning the systems of government that make migration so prevalent in this country. It explores the reality of life in the United States while debunking the farce of the American Dream.
