  • Any Chico State undergraduate or graduate student is welcome to submit.
  • The first author must be a current or recently graduated (semester previous to submission) undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at CSU Chico.
  • Each submission must be approved and supported by a member of the CSU, Chico faculty or staff. Papers selected for publication may require confirmation of faculty support.

  • Submission deadline is Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

Author Guidelines

Adelante: A Journal of Student Research and Creative Work seeks student abstracts or papers.

The Adelante student journal aims to publish abstracts and papers to showcase the breadth and diversity of Chico State undergraduate and graduate student research and creative work.

  • Showcasing the variety of possible research on campus
  • Encouraging research in all disciplines
  • Providing a resource to help students formulate their research topic and approach
  • Representing diverse voices
  • Demonstrating various research methods and writing styles

Original research, analysis, review, or creative work in any subject area is welcome. Paper submissions must not be published elsewhere or under review for publishing elsewhere – aside from that, any undergraduate or graduate student is welcome to submit.

Although submission of an abstract is a part of the Adelante Summer Research Program, all students - even non-Adelante students are also encouraged to submit abstracts or papers.

Papers will be selected by a graduate student/staff/faculty committee in a blind review selection process.

Submissions must use one of the following templates:

Student Abstract Template

Student Research Paper Template

Student Creative Project Template
