New Business Park Topographics

Abstract

This photo essay is inspired by Lewis Baltz's work, capturing the author's exploration of everyday objects during the pandemic, specifically the business parks in Sunnyvale. The essay discusses how the pandemic provided an opportunity for a reconnection with these spaces, highlighting the intersections of tech, environmentalism, and urban planning. Through deadpan imagery of parking lots, the essay reflects on the power dynamics shaping the region's landscape and the role of cities in competing for tax dollars and private partnerships to address housing challenges.
