About the Journal
Since 1967, Genre has published multilingual, multicultural, and multimedia perspectives from CSULB-affiliated and global contributors. Honoring Comparative World Literature’s transdisciplinary focus, we celebrate perspectives in and out of traditional literature. Genre foregrounds synthesis as a platform welcoming all forms of expression.
True to our name, we publish creative and scholarly works across genres. With each issue of Genre, the Genre Editorial Collective showcases original works inspired by an annual theme. Each year, our journal embodies a specific thematic focus, enlivening socioemotional, political, and cultural topics of global relevance.
