Abstract

This piece is an exploration of my past. Family and religion are the two major influences that shaped me as a child. As I attempt to find answers as to why I am the way I am, I always return to these two aspects of my childhood. Cross my heart, is a visual depiction of my inner child. Graphite renditions of my childhood photos, combined with hand-sewn elements, create a scrapbook-like collage, reminiscent of the types of crafts I would have created as a child.
