Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

If the manuscript refers to students or persons with disabilities, be certain it uses “person-first” terminology. The person always comes before the disability. For example, instead of “learning disabled students” use “students with learning disabilities;” instead of “Joe is autistic” use “Joe has autism.”

The author assumes responsibility for publication clearance in the event the manuscript was the direct result of a funded project.

Author Guidelines
The purpose of Educational Renaissance is to advance the preparation and professional development of educator preparation. The editors have an open submission policy and seek manuscripts on a wide variety of issues confronting teacher educators. We will seek to publish original work that describes quantitative or qualitative research, surveys, policy analyses, and promising practices.
Types of Submission
Feature Articles present important data-based research results of broad significance for the preparation of educators. Feature articles should be no more than 7000 words including title page, abstract, and references. Educational Renaissance welcomes a variety of work including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research.
Essays/Reactions describe new developments related to educator preparation. These articles can be presented as multimodal media. Essay/Reaction articles should not exceed 3000 words, all-inclusive.
Case Stories describe particular events related to teacher preparation. They could include successful or unsuccessful novel approaches. Case Stories can be presented as multimodal media. Case Stories should not exceed 4000 words.
Book/Media Reviews classic or recent publications that are likely to be of interest to teacher educators. Reviews should not exceed 1500 words.

The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font (Times New Roman preferred); one-inch margins; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
