Abstract

Through viewing a case study on the relationship that the United States immigration policy has on undocumented people living in New York, I use root cause analysis to demonstrate that most immigration policies negatively impact immigrants accessibility to living a healthy life. There are different pillars of life that policies impact people in, such as access to health care, the impacts of immigration systems affecting one’s mental health, and the way people’s environments affect their perception of security and support.
