Abstract

Instability brought on by parental incarceration disturbs family relations and children's development. The paper examines how parental incarceration disproportionately affects underprivileged populations by studying the social stigmas, unstable finances, and strained relationships it causes. It advocates community-based solutions and family-centered policies to reduce harm and increase fortitude in affected families.
